It looks like a change of scenery is exactly what Mario Balotelli needed to reinvigorate his football career.
His final months a Manchester Citywere not the best as his relationship with Roberto Mancini deteriorated and the goals began to dry up as did City fans’ patience.
But his return to Italy with AC Milan has proved to be a good decision for the controversial striker. His brace against Palmero on Sunday means his goal tally improved to 7 goals in six games which is very efficient.
If Balotelli is in the mood he can be a top class player who is deadly in front of goal. AC Milan are 14 points behind leaders Juventus in Serie A and whilst Balotelli’s form won’t be able to win AC the title it certainly consolidates their place in the Champions League spot.
Would Balotelli have made a difference for AC Milan had he been on the pitch against Barcelona in the Champions League tie on Tuesday (Balotteli is of course cup-tied having played for City in the group stages) during which the Catalan club destroyed the Italian 4-0? If he had been able to replicate what he is currently doing in the league then most certainly he would have.
