Well, it had to happen, the current Italian champions have ended their 18 game – winning streak in the Uefa champions League to German side Bayern Munich.
Juventus were well prepared for the mouth-watering tie in Germany, at least they thought they were.
It was Bayern Munich who was on the score-sheet in under a minute of game-play thanks to a misguided pass by Andrea Pirlo straight to David Alaba who launched a missile at Gianluigi Buffon to give his team the lead.
Juventus had a beautiful chance to capitalise when Arturo Vidal shot put blank at Manuel Neuer which he was shut down. Bayern second came from a controversial offside ruling which made it 2-0.
The second- leg will have Arturo Vidal and Stephan Lichsteiner missing the match as they both received consecutive bookings. Undoubtedly a massive blow for the Italian Old Lady.
Juve now have to put points on the board as they are in their own backyard against the Germans, they will need to be calm and create opportunities in order to score as the German league leaders had all the possession in the midfield – a midfield in which Juve could not hold onto the ball very long.
