Despite suffering from something of a League Cup hangover Swansea City have still had a fantastic season.
And what a first season in the Premier League for manager Michael Laudrup, guiding the Swans to the club’s first major trophy in its 100 year history.
Some may argue that the team was ready made for Laudrup with his predecessors Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers sharing similar coaching philosophies to the Great Dane.
It was Laudrup who brought in key summer signing Michu, however, and he has been instrumental to Swansea’s success this season.
Laudrup enjoyed a fantastic playing career, too, and was part of Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona ‘Dream Team’ before jumping ship to Real Madrid where he enjoyed further success.
Anyway, here is a clip of Laudrup and his coaching staff taking on the South Wales press team in a friendly game of footy and, inevitably, Laudrup makes them all look rather foolish in a fine display of tekkers.
I wonder if this happens with every club? How about some footage of Alex Ferguson taking on those members of the press he gets on so well with? Or Wenger nutmegging a journalist who dared question his team selection? Well, we can only hope such footage does exist, somewhere, but for now you get Laudrup doing his thing at 48.
