Sunderland will be preparing the arrival of the Italian international Emanuele Giaccherini from Italian champions Juventus. Will he be up for the challenge in the Barclays Premier League?
The former Juventus attacking midfielder will put pen to paper on a brand new 4 year contract worth €2m a season. All that is missing is the official announcement of the move.
The 28-year-old was a stand out in the Confederations Cup not so long ago, one moment was in the Spain match where he narrowly missed and hit the cross-bar. if he had scored, Spain would surely have been eliminated.
At the Bianconeri he would find it difficult to play in the starting eleven, as Juventus’ had Arturo Vidal, Claudio Marchisio and Paulo Pogba in midfield in which Giaccherini had to fight a place for and prove to Antonio Conte that he was worthy of a spot.
Just this week, Giaccherini’s agent announced that he would be staying with Juventus for next season but it was not meant to be I guess.
The Italian phenomenon has been on the score-sheet 4 times in 40 appearances and has been a revelation for the Azzurri in which he has 14 caps and 2 goals.
In my opinion he has great talent as a footballer and he has proved what he can do on larger stages.
He will no doubt be a stand-out in next years world cup.
