Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus is one of the five players I mentioned yesterday in regards to who Arsenal should be targeting in January and I discussed why his transfer to Arsenal wouldn’t be as ridiculous as some people make out it would be. A quick summary for those who didn’t read it yesterday. Tomas Rosicky is his idol, he supports Arsenal, he speaks very highly of Jack Wilshere, the arrival of Mesut Ozil and the German influence on the team in general.
Now, Marco Reus is one of the best talents in Europe in his position and will have plenty of top European teams vying for his signature. It’s no wonder either, he’s been in good form this season scoring four goals in eight games for Dortmund as well as grabbing four assists. It’s his form last season which attracted the interest. In 32 Bundesliga games, he scored 14 goals and assisted a further 11. He also added a further five goals and five assists in other competitions for Dortmund.
It’s his link up play with other team mates that has really earned him the plaudits. When he develops such a good understanding with a player, he can literally tear any team to shreds. His movement off the ball is as good as anybody’s in the world, his movement on the ball is even better. The pace at which he fires in a pass and receives the ball in a one-two can leave teams absolutely bewildered. It was him and Gotze that devastated opposition. The dynamic duo were simply too hot to handle.
The video is an extension of my admiration for the player so just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
