5 reasons why Arsenal can win the Premier League this season

Arsenal have had a tough time of late. If you even think about mentioning the word trophy in the red half of north London you are met with glares, but it’s not all doom and gloom. After splurting money in the summer Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League – and here are five reasons as to why they can stay there come May.

1) In Arsene we Trust

The wily old Frenchman is still going strong and drawing on his experiences to get the Gunners out of this trophy-less rut. The amount of money he has made the club, as well as the players he has nurtured into superstars should be enough to keep Gooners off his back, and after a shaky few years at the helm they currently sit top of the league.

2) Mesut Ozil

What an incredible signing the German will prove to be. One of the most creative talents in world football, Ozil has already created seven chances in the two league appearances that he has made. He holds a 100% shot accuracy, an 89% pass accuracy and a 67% duel success. There is no doubt in my mind he can drive the Gunners to the title.

3) Options in the midriff

While Aaron Ramsey is ploughing through everything in front of him and hitting the back of the net with ease, Arsenal still have the likes of Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla to deploy when the return from injury and Jack Wilshere and Arteta to choose from. The midfield is the engine in the team, and Arsenal have a strong one.

4) Goal-gobbler

Who’d have thought that all the talk of the big money striker in the summer would encourage Olivier Giroud to step up and take charge? Well, a lot of us, actually. The Frenchman has hit four goals in five league games so far this season and is likely to get plenty more.

5) Under pressure

The pressure from the supporters is really being felt at the club. The nerves in the crowds on a weekend are transpiring into the players, but unlike last season where it seemed to hinder their performances, this season they are thriving under it.

Exciting times to be a Gooner again.
