With rumours again showing their faces suggesting that Real Madrid will make another move for Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez, here are three reasons I think he should stay in Merseyside.
1) Title
Okay, so Real Madrid are likely to be fighting for the La Liga title every year, we know that. But the Premier League’s destination come May is probably the biggest mystery it has been since it started, and Liverpool have a real chance of claiming it.
The Reds showed that they can cope without Suarez at the back of last season, but there’s no doubting that any side would be stronger with the little forward in their team. Suarez could potentially be the difference between a title fight and a fight for the top four.
2) Big fish
At Liverpool there’s no question that Suarez is a big fish in a little pond. I say little, but it is growing again, with thanks to Brendan Rodgers. Should a switch to Madrid happen then he would find himself amongst the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Karim Benzema, not to mention Gareth Bale, and could find himself in a lesser role than he’s used to.
3) Potential
As touched upon, Liverpool have huge potential under the guidance of Rodgers. We are already seeing result from the seeds he planted when he took over with the Reds playing silky, meaningful football. Real Madrid are some way ahead, but to be part of that movement forward with the Anfield club is surely something that Suarez would want to be part of.
