The next week could make or break Roy Hodgson’s England career, as his side take on Montenegro and then Poland in the crucial World Cup qualification games. The latter are known in a lesser quantity, so here are three players to keep your eye on in this evening’s game.
1) Elsad Zverotic – Fulham
The holding midfielder is likely to be a thorn in the backside of the English central players as he uses his experience to pick apart their attacks. The 26-year-old signed for Fulham in September on a two-year deal but has yet to appear for the Cottagers.
He has over 30 caps for his country and three goals.
2) Mirko Vucinic – Juventus
The 30-year-old is a well respected figure in the Italian topflight, having represented Lecce, Roma and now Juventus. He has been in Turin for two years now and has scored 25 goals in 81 games for the club.
Vucinic has the power, the movement and the composure to trouble the England backline tonight.
3) Stevan Jovetic – Manchester City
We haven’t seen much of him since his move to Manchester City in the summer, but Jovetic is a real danger to Hodgson’s men. He has two goals in his two City appearances so far and will be keen to sink the country who have welcomed him recently.
