Olivier Giroud has had a brilliant season so far, striking seven goals in his opening 13 games of the new campaign, but the France international is the only viable striker at present – ignoring Nicklas Bendtner – and Arsene Wenger will need to look at options in the new year if he’s sustain his title challenge with the north London club.
That man, according to the Mirror, is Juventus target man Fernando Llorente, who is said to be interested in a loan move to Arsenal. The Spaniard would prove a new option for Wenger and his merry bugle of backroom staff and would act as a stopgap until the summer when Wenger can splash out.
The 28-year-old has scored just once in five games this season and has played second fiddle to former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez.
A player who is naturally strong and incredibly determined to increase his goal tally at every opportunity, Llorente has established himself as one of the top strikers in Europe over the last few seasons. He made his name at Athletic Bilbao in La Liga by scoring 118 goals in 333 and earned a move to Turin this summer, but after just five appearances – 1 full game – this season and a World Cup around the corner it’s said that he may be open to a switch.
