Using the Who Scored statistic system, here are Manchester United’s top five players this season in terms of average key passes per game.
1) Nani
Although he has hardly been involved this season, the Portuguese winger has averaged two key passes per game during his five appearances.
He has pace, power and precision and I feel frustrated for him in regards to how his United career has gone.
2) Wayne Rooney
No surprises that Rooney makes the list as he continues his fine season under former gaffer David Moyes. Rooney has scored five goals and claimed four assists, as well as averaging 1.7 key passes per game.
3) Patrice Evra
The Frenchman is fancied to be gone in January by some, and if that’s true then at least he is going out in style. He has totalled 16 key passes in his 10 games, averaging 1.6 per appearance.
4) Anderson
A surprise inclusion now in the shape of Anderson, who has made just three appearances. However, he has averaged 1.3 key passes in those games, so he comes in at number four in our list.
5) Michael Carrick
The Premier League pass master. The midfielder has made 770 passes this season, 12 of which have been key, so comes in at number 5 with an average of 1.2.
