Why Manchester United Need To Be Worried About Their Season Ahead

Manchester United currently sit fifth in the Premier League, five points off leaders Arsenal after 11 games of the campaign gone. But going into the second stage of the season after the international break, should David Moyes and those affiliated with the Old Trafford club be worried about the season ahead?

You may laugh it off, as they are Manchester United. However their injury problems is something that concerns me. With Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini now out injured, it leaves an already feeble midfield looking completely bare, with 39-year-old Ryan Giggs likely to start against Cardiff this weekend.

Rio Ferdinand is also sidelined, as are Nemanja Vidic, Rafael and Phil Jones, which is pretty much their entire first choice defence.

Danny Welbeck is out and Robin van Persie is doubtful, while Darren Fletcher is another long-term absentee.

December is a busy month for United as they gear up for no less than nine games. A trip to Tottenham comes first, followed by a trio of home fixtures against Everton, Newcastle and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Then comes back to back away games with Aston Villa and Stoke, before Moyes’ men invite West Ham to Old Trafford and end the year with games away at Hull and Norwich.

This turgid run of fixtures and their horrible injury list, as well as the fact David Moyes is finding it hard to settle into his new club, is enough for me to start worrying. And I don’t even support them!

United fans, what do you think?
