La Liga Round Up – Top 3 Pick Up Huge Results

The big result of the weekend came in the local derby between Atletico Madrid and Getafe, where Diego Simeone’s men thrashed their opponents 7-0. It was no mean feat, as Getafe sit 7th in the La Liga table, but the result keeps Atleti second in the league.

Garcia and Villa helped themselves to a brace each, while Lopo, Deigo Costa, Lopez and an own goal from Lopo handed Atletico Madrid the three points.

Barcelona and Real Madrid also got big wins – the Camp Nou side beating Granada 4-0 and Real Madrid returning to the capital with a 5-0 victory over Almeria. Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Gareth Bale all got on the scoresheet for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, while two penalties and a Sanchez and Pedro goal rounded up he scoring.

Carlos Vela scored four in Real Sociedad’s 4-3 win over Celta Vigo and Sevilla smashed Real Betis 4-0 in another derby clash. Strugglers Elche beat Valencia at home, winning 2-1, and Real Vallacano suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Espanyol, with Garcia scoring a hat-trick.

Villareal travelled to Levante in fine form and picked up another result with a 3-0 win.
