Burnley may have dropped to third in the Championship table, but the Lancashire club will still feel positive about their chances of being promoted to the Premier League come the end of the season. However, that could depend on whether they can keep hold of their top scorer, Danny Ings, who is apparently a target for Liverpool.
The 21-year-old has been on fire this season, scoring 11 league goals in just 17 appearances. His link up play with fellow frontman has been extraordinary and he’s been a big reason as to why Sam Vokes has scored 10 goals himself.
Ings is a flexible player who can operate as the lone frontman, work in a pair or even drop back slightly and act as the creative player. His ball control allows him to run at defenders and create space for those around him, while his composure in front of goal is second to none.
He’s claimed two assists, had 49 shots at goal and has also made 27 key passes. He’s the man that keeps the Clarets ticking in attack and could prove a brilliant signing if he can handle the hustle and bustle of the Premier League.
He’s not particularly big, nor is he the strongest player in the world, but then again neither is Luis Suarez and he seems to be doing okay, doesn’t he?
