Arsenal are already through to the next round of the Champions League as they sit pretty at the top of their group, but they go up against Napoli tonight and will want to beat Rafa Benitez’s side keep up momentum. It won’t be a walk in the park, though, as the Serie A side have won 10 of their 15 league games this season. So here are a few things that I would do if I was Arsene Wenger.
Napoli’s weakness, or at least how I see it, is defending against balls into the box, so it should be explained to the players that they should try and take advantage of that. Swinging balls into Olivier Giroud or Nicklas Bendtner could work wonders.
Their strength though is hitting teams on the break, as their side is crammed full of pacey outlets. To stop that, I would stick Jack Wilshere on the wing as it would allow his to tuck in and keep things tighter in midfield. He’s also got a decent cross on his when going forward, too.
Napoli have conceded 14 goals in their last six games combined and that should be used as motivation for them to be positive in their play. Should Arsenal sit off the Italians it could have a detrimental effect, so they need to play with a creative freedom.
To conclude, gets balls into the box, play Jack Wilshere and be positive in their play to beat Napoli. That’s what I think, anyway.
