THREE Napoli Stars Who Arsenal Need To Stop Tonight
Although Arsenal are already through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Arsene Wenger will be hoping that his side can finish it in style with a win over Napoli, who are fighting with Borussia Dortmund for the other place. Here are three players who Arsenal need to stop tonight in order to get anything from the tie.
1) Gonzalo Higuain
All eyes will be on this chap later as he has the chance to rub Arsenal’s noses in that he chose Napoli over the north London side.
The Argentine has scored 10 goals in his 17 games at the club so far and will probably be desperate to extend that tally tonight.
He’s lethal in front of goal and his runs will have to be tracked, if not stopped.
2) Marek Hamsik
The 26-year-old is the creative hub that keeps the attacking unit ticking at Napoli. He has sculpted six key passes in his four Champions League appearances and 20 in the league, as well as scoring six goals to boot.
It will be the defensive midfielder’s job to keep him quiet.
3) Lorenzo Insigne
The 22-year-old has already scored twice in the Champions League this season and has created a further five opportunities.
He is a pacey little player who could cause the combative pair of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny some real problems should he run directly at them.
He has played in every game so far this season for the club, both in Serie A and the Champions League and has been a big reason for their success, though he is yet to score in the league.
