Despite the fact Chelsea sit top of their Champions League group going into their last tie of the stage, against bottom of the table Steaua Bucherest, I expect a good showing from the underdogs as they have some players potentially capable of hurting Chelsea. Here are three of them.
1) Cristian Tanase
The Romanian is a winger who loves to run at players, so going up against an out-of-sorts Branislav Ivanovic could work wonders this evening. The 26-year-old has appeared in all five of the club’s Champions League games this term but is still yet to score a goal, something he will look to do as they fall out of the competition after tonight.
2) Lukasz Szukala
The Polish centre-back may not be the most technically-able player in the world but he’s good with his feet and he leads from the back. He has won 25 headers, made 58 clearances and even chipped in with an assist this season in the competition and the Blues will have to watch how he goes.
Not only can he hurt them going forward but he could also hurt their chances of scoring.
3) Nicolae Claudiu
The playmaker of the team – Claudiu is a young creative player who loves to play between the lines. The 20-year-old has had a tough time in the Champions League so far, like all the Steaua players, but will be looking to go out with a bang.
