Arsene Wenger loves a bargain, we all know that. After years of constructing his Arsenal side from the youth side and with unearthed gems from afar he proved that he can splash the cash as well as he splurted a huge amount on Mesut Ozil. However, if the Frenchman was able to pick up some serious talent on a free then surely he would be interested, no? Well, Arsene, how about Blaise Matuidi, who is out of contract in the summer?
The 19-time France international is an agile little midfielder who thrives with the ball at his feet. This season he has completed 91% of his attempted passes while carving 13 balls in his 18 appearances in Ligue 1.
Impressively, Matuidi has also completed 17 of his 25 take ons and has already registered 35 tackles and 14 headers.
The I enjoy most about the Paris Saint-Germain player is the way he is able to skip through challenges without the opposition even getting close to him, before the 26-year-old lays it off effortlessly.
It was thought that Chelsea were interested in the midfielder not long ago, as were Manchester City, but the fact that he is free to negotiate a free transfer in the new year means that we will find out sooner or later, either way.
Sign him up, Arsene.
