Manchester United made it two wins on the bounce as they beat West Ham 3-1 at Old Trafford yesterday. Here are five things we learned during the game.
1) Rooney is top provider
His assist for Ashley Young puts him top of the Premier League in terms of assists and proves that he is just as effective at creating goals as he is scoring them. He has scored eight goals in his 15 league outings.
2) Jones & Cleverley provide balance
The combativeness and rough and ready style of play that Phil Jones provides compliments the energy and the awareness that Tom Cleverley offers, and together they ran the show against West Ham yesterday.
3) Januzaj needs to mature
We saw just how effective he can be going forward and offering himself to team-mates but he let himself down with a silly dive.
4) Welbeck can lead the line
The lanky striker made it three goals in two games with a neat finish past Hammers goalkeeper Adrian. He was willing to hold up the ball, invite others into play and worked himself into the ground before being replaced.
5) Cole can score
When Carlton Cole was slipped through on goal few thought that the ball would end in the back of the net, but it did, and he nut-megged David De Gea to boot.
