Luis Suarez is an incredible player. When he requested to leave Liverpool in the summer it sparked uproar in Merseyside and the Reds didn’t react well with his wishes. However, Brendan Rodgers kept hold of the South American and it proved a shrewd move as he has since signed a new contract and has scored 19 league goals in just 12 appearances this season, two of which came against Cardiff yesterday.
Not many had the Bluebirds to travel to Anfield and pick up a result, and although they only lost by a two-goal margin, it could have been much, much more.
Suarez was at the heart of everything, as usual, and it was his two goals and unselfish assist that won the Reds the game.
His first came after a superb floated pass from Jordan Henderson picked him out on the edge of the box, which he then happily smashed in. The second was a snap-shot from outside the area that curled beautifully inside the post. And the third he was through on goal before squaring it to Raheem Sterling, who tucked it away.
He also hit the post.
Overall Suarez had nine shots, made six key passes and went on nine dribbles. He was incredible throughout and Liverpool fans will be on cloud nine right now.
