For a long time now Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers as Olivier Giroud starts to tire. The France international has played a total of 29 games for the Gunners this season and has lead the line brilliantly, scoring 12 goals and creating a huge amount of chances. But he needs a face to come in and take some of the responsibility off his back, and here are three potential solutions to that.
1) Thomas Muller – Bayern Munich
The Germany international has made his name in the Bundesliga over the last couple of seasons and it’s remarkable to see how much he has really come on. He has the creativity to fit in at Arsenal, he has the goals and he would fit in nicely with the Arsenal contingent.
He has scored seven and claimed six assists so far this season.
2) Mario Mandzukic – Bayern Munich
Another forward who could fall down the pecking order at the Allianz-Arena due to the arrival of Robert Lewandowski in the summer, so could have his head turned.
The Croatia international has scored 10 league goals to his name this season in 12 starts and four substitute appearances.
3) Jackson Martinez – Porto
The powerful Colombian has scored 15 goals this season, which has followed on nicely from his 34 last season. He would provide a physical presence and is good in the air, but he is also quick on his feet which makes him a strong candidate for the role.
