Why Arsenal Won’t Win A Trophy This Season – Opinion

Arsenal may be in good spirit right now and they may be sat top of the Premier League, but in my opinion Arsene Wenger’s men will again go trophy-less this season. Before you start to shout me down, or even criticise me for my views, hear me out.

The first reason I suggest they will fall flat is because of their lack of fire power in the striker department. Olivier Giroud has done well this season but he is their only viable striker right now and even when Nicklas Bednter returns to full fitness, he hasn’t got much of a track record.

Compare their frontline to the likes of Manchester City’s, Liverpool’s or even Manchester United’s and I believe that’s the reason they will fall short in the Premier League.

They are still in the Champions League, but with Bayern Munich to get past in the knockout stages, I can’t see them progressing. Bayern have so much quality and so many natural winners in their squad that I think it will be relatively straight forward for the current European champions.

Another reason is because of their run of games starting from their next – they travel to Liverpool before hosting Manchester United and after that they have Liverpool and Bayern in cup competitions. Their morale will be through the floor should they lose a couple of those and Manchester City could pull away should results go their way.

As I said, Liverpool are next in the FA Cup, and I think Brendan Rodgers’ men will be desperate to continue their cup run as they look doubtful to make a title challenge.

Having read my reasons, I hope you now realise why I think Arsenal will continue their barren run.
