Arsenal took a step closer to the Champions League today with a 3-0 win over Hull. Here are four things we learned from the tie.
1) Ramsey can run the show
The Wales international was superb against the Tigers and was deservedly man of the match. He completed 87% of his passes and claimed an assist, but it was the way he took his goal that impressed the most.
He was at the heart of everything Arsenal did today.
2) Arsenal looking good for fourth
The win took Arsenal onto 70 points from 35 games, and with Everton on 66 with a game in hand (against Manchester United today) Arsenal look good for fourth spot. Even if the Toffees win, the Gunners have to be considered favourites.
3) Arsenal forced to clear their lines
During the game, Arsenal were forced into 52 clearances, which is almost double the amount Hull registered. There was a sense of resilience in the Arsenal side and is shows in the statistics. They also made 13 interceptions, and made over 600 passes.
4) Hull not scared to shoot
Steve Bruce has got his Hull side organised into a very difficult team to break down, but at the other end of the pitch his players certainly aren’t short of confidence. The Tigers had 13 shots at goal during the game, which is one more than the Gunners managed.
