It appears that Chelsea’s relationship with Dutch outfit Vitesse is under scrutiny, as the Express have reported the Blues’ chief scout has claimed that the Eredivisie side have mistreated their young star Lucas Piazon. For me, they need to stop complaining, in the nicest way possible, and get him into the first team for next season. Here’s why.
The Brazilian is one of four currently on loan at the club – Christian Atsu, Bertrand Traore and Patrick van Aanholt being the others – and has been the club’s standout player for a lot of the season.
The 20-year-old is a player who can offer a lot of energy and creativity to the Chelsea side, and now with two loan spells under his belt – the first of which was in La Liga with Malaga – I would get him involved in proceedings.
This season in the Dutch top tier, Piazon has played 29 games and scored 11, as well as creating an impressive 78 chances for his team-mates – 24 more than next in line, who happens to be Chelsea’s Atsu.
Piazon is a central attacker who thrives behind a lone striker and could be exactly what the Blues need to supply Diego Costa, and support Eden Hazard and Oscar.
Chelsea fans, would you like to see him in the first team?
