Liverpool scored 101 goals in the Premier League and looked favourites to lift the trophy, though their defence let them down massively and they somewhat handed the crown to Manchester City. It was a disappointing end, but there’s always next year. Here are a couple of adjustments I would make if I was Brendan Rodgers.
The first thing needed is a top quality centre-half to plug the leaky backline. The man I would like to see is Mats Hummels. The Borussia Dortmund star is one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in Europe and to see him at Anfield would be brilliant.
He is a monster when defending but also offers options when striding forward, which fits into Rodgers’ mould of defender.
Then, I would look to shift Lucas. The Brazilian has won the hearts of many Reds fan but I am afraid he is just not good enough to make an impact.
He is slow, he make rash tackles and offers nothing going forward. I would to see a young player come in and take his place, or at least run Jordan Henderson for his money.
I would also look to sign a back up goalkeeper. Perhaps Jack Butland, as he is young, has a good experience and towers above most attackers.
Liverpool fans, do you agree?
