If I was an Arsenal fan, I would feel incredibly frustrated right now. After spending a huge amount of the season top of the pile, the Gunners lost the plot and finished fourth, and although they are in the FA Cup final, I’m not sure that is enough for some fans. Here is how I would organise things in the summer, If I was in charge.
The first thing I would do is sign Karim Benzema, if he is available. The France international is a superb forward and has proved over and over that he has what it takes to succeed on the big stage.
Over the last three seasons at Real Madrid, the 26-year-old has scored 49 goals in 76 games, which is an impressive return.
The second thing I would do is look for a right-back to replace Bacary Sagna. He would have to be experienced, powerful and be able to bomb down the pitch and deliver accurate passes into the box. Perhaps Serge Aurier of Toulouse.
The final thing I would do is look to offload Mikel Arteta. Yes he can pass a ball, but he is slow, he struggles to play in the middle with Mathieu Flamini and doesn’t contribute offensively.
Arsenal fans, would you agree?
