There has been a lot of talk about strikers at Chelsea this season with some huge names linked with a move to the club over the summer. Diego Costa is one, but I am here to tell Jose Mourinho – I know you’re reading, Jose – to forget about signing the Spain international and to concentrate on the forward that is right under your nose.
Romelu Lukaku has it all and is still only 21 years of age.
He is now an established goal scorer in the Premier League having scored 17 league goals for West Brom and then 16 for Everton, whereas Costa has had just two strong seasons in La Liga.
The money that would be spent on landing Costa could be split to sign another two strikers to support Lukaku, and I think the Blues should get rid of the current crop, as they failed to produce last season.
I think it is a shame that Lukaku hasn’t had the chance to show what he can do at Stamford Bridge, but I think next season could be the one he does just that.
