Arsenal’s transfer window would come as mixed feelings for the fans. Despite having signed 4 players in a matter of a week, the Gunners ultimately failed to sign a central defensive midfielder and ended up with Danny Welbeck from Manchester United on deadline day. Arsene Wenger however has set plans early for the next summer as the DAILY MAIL reports that the north London club will do their all to sign Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus for next term.
Reus has attracted the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona for quite some time now and his abilities for the Westfallenstadion outfit has simply wowed the entire football fraternity. Disaster however struck when the 25-year-old missed the World Cup days before the grand tournament suffering a devastating ankle injury during the 6-1 win over Armenia in the Die Mannschaft’s last warm up game.
Reus has so far failed to sit with Dortmund officils to sign a contract extension and the report claims that Wenger, who is a huge fan of Reus intends to activate the £20m buy-out clause in the player’s contract, which is due to kick-in next summer. Reus showed he has fully recovered from his injury with a sumptuous form with a stunning performance last week in Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
METRO however has taken the interest from the Emirates outfit on a different level claiming that Arsene Wenger will head the queue for Reus’s signature and has already signed off on a formal bid. The Media outlet also believes that Manchester United, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also expected to join in the hunt for Reus should he not commit to a new contract at Dortmund.
