Aaron Ramsey has handed Arsenal a huge injury boost as he is set to return to training next Monday. Ramsey will miss Saturday’s fixture against Hull City but will return in time for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Belgian side Anderlecht.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Ramsey will be available for next week’s game, “Ramsey will be back in full training on Monday and will be in the squad for Anderlecht.”
The 23-year old suffered from a hamstring injury in late September against Tottenham that has kept him out so far. He has missed 4 games for Arsenal so far in a period where they have struggled to find any sort of consistency on the pitch and subsequently find themselves 8th in the League after having collected just 10 points in 7 games.
Arsenal have missed the services of the Welshman as he was a key contributor to the team from midfield with 2 goals and an assist. The Arsenal midfield and attack looked toothless without the Ramsey’s drive and energy from midfield and it showed in their last game against Chelsea.
Defender set to miss the next game
Arsene Wenger also confirmed that Laurent Koscielny will miss the next game against Hull City due to an achilles injury. Wenger said, “He has an achilles problem, which has got worse. He finds it difficult to play with it at the moment.
“You can only trust what the players says, he does not feel ready to play and will not play on Saturday. An inflammation of an achilles tendon, if you wait for it to be better, it can be a short time.
“If you want to get rid of it completely, it is long term. We will monitor him and as soon as he can take enough pain again he will play.”
Wenger also revealed that the French defender will not require a surgery when he was asked about it, “No. We have scanned him, there is no real deterioration of his achilles at all. It is just the pain of the inflammation.”
With Koscielny out of the next game, there are reports that Wenger could use Nacho Monreal at the center back position. Wenger stated that the Spaniard has the characteristics to do so, “He can do well there because he is intelligent, because he has a good sense of interception, because he reads the game well and is a good passer.”
