Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on a one month loan deal. the Gunners released a public statement in their official website which read: French midfielder Francis Coquelin has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on loan for a month..Everyone at Arsenal wishes Francis well for his time at The Valley.
The 23-year-old has made 43 Arsenal first-team appearances but has failed to garner a starting eleven place for the North London side. Coquelin returned to the Gunners this season having spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at German side Freiburg. The midfielder got significant game time making 24 appearances and scoring once for the German outfit. Before his experience in Germany Coquelin spent a season-long loan with French Ligue 1 club Lorient in 2010/11.
It is believed that manager Arsene Wenger believes that the young Frenchman will gain experience. Coquelin, who can also play at full-back joined Arsenal in 2008. he has also gone on to represent France at Under-21 level. Coquelin will now be eligible to make his debut for the Addicks in Tuesday’s Championship match at Leeds United.
The plethora of talent that Arsenal have at their disposal is being marred by frequent injuries. Wenger though has always been a visionary and has recast-ed young talents into future superstars. Coquelin might not feature for the London time any time any sooner and the move personally would be a great learning curve.
