According to reports from Spanish Media outlet SPORT, Manchester United are confident of signing Victor Valdes in January once he is fully fit from his injury. Valdes who was also a Liverpool target has been training for the Manchester side for quite some time now and United manager Louis Van Gaal is confident that Valdes would be a great signing that too on free for the Red Devils.
David De Gea would be the obvious first choice thanks to fantastic season so far but Valdes would be a great addition who could come in handy when required. The 32 year old Valdes suffered a serious knee injury towards the end of the season while still at Barcelona. He missed the World Cup for Spain and despite having a contract agreement with French side Monaco, the club chose to break off the contract.
Valdes has been known to Van Gaal from a long time as the shot stopper had made his debut at Barcelona when Van Gaal was in charge of the Catalan side. Valdes faces the final stretch of recovery from injury and is expected to be fully fit by mid-January. The former barcelona star can be expected to get a run in the cup games should he sign a contract with United. David De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but there is absolutely no way that the Spaniard would be allowed to let go by the Red Devils.
