After conceding a rather embarrassing goal a mere 14 seconds into last Sunday’s match against Southampton, Chelsea actually rallied themselves to quite a thrilling 3-1 victory over the saints. Once again, after quite a rocky start, when it seemed all but lost, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge will live to see another day.
I’m sure most people, with the exception of Arsenal fans of course, are a little sceptical about the fact that the gunners have had such a comfortable lead in the Premier League table for so long now. When is it going to end? Or are they actually going to win the Premier League title this year?
Its seems that it’s pretty final that Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe is going to make his way across the pond to play in the MLS for Toronto FC. Everyone here is looking at all of the negatives in this situation, and don’t get me wrong, for Spurs, there really isn’t much good that is going to come from this transfer. Defoe was a positive element to the side that suffered an embarrassing 6-0 defeat to Manchester City this weekend, and getting rid of one of your best players doesn’t seem like the wisest choice. But I’m going to be different, I’m going to flip this matter around and give a few reasons why it’s great that Defoe will be playing in the MLS.
It’s hard to say how Tottenham will fare against the other Manchester Club this Sunday when they travel back home to White Hart Lane to face Manchester United.
Chelsea really are feeling blue after Tuesday’s loss in the Champion’s League to FC Basel. Despite loosing 1-0 with the goal being scored late on, in the 87th minute, Chelsea still managed to qualify for the knockout stages and are safely through to the next round. Though its great that the west London side will continue on in the Champions League, it was by no means pretty, and they shouldn’t be at all too proud of their recent performance.
