Arsenal Makes A £3.7million Bid For German International After Securing Paulista Deal

Kevin Grosskreutz

Defending FA Cup Champions Arsenal have made a £3.7 million bid for Borussia Dortmund’s German International Kevin Grosskreutz. In his recent Press Conference, Arsene Wenger had made it clear that he will be signing atleast two players at the end of the Winter Transfer Window.

According to reports in Dailystar, Arsene Wenger has approached Dortmund and has offered the mentioned bid to secure the signature of the versatile player. He can play anywhere in the midfield apart from playing as a right back. Bringing the German International to the Emirates Stadium will solve Arsenal’s defensive midfield problems.

Grosskreutz still has 18 months left on his contract, which will end at the end of next season. But the 26 year old might leave Dortmund, who are still loitering in the relegation zone of Bundesliga. Along with Grosskreutz, Dortmund might also lose the likes of Marco Reus, Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan, Nuri Sahin and Neven Subotic to other clubs if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, which looks like a certainty.

Grosskreutz is a World Cup winner with Germany after he was a part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup although he failed to feature in the finals. So far, he has appeared 5 times for his national team. Wenger had a good look at the player when Grosskreutz started both Champions League games when Arsenal played Dortmund earlier this season.

Grosskreutz is all set to join the German trio of Per Mertasacker, Mesut Ozil and Serge Gnabry at the Emirates Stadium. He might be the second signing for Arsenal in this window after rumours are saying that Arsenal have signed defender Paulista from Villareal and are waiting for the work permit to be approved by the officials.

The Gunners are currently fifth in the league table with just one point below Manchester United.

£6m Arsenal Target Close In On Move To Serie A Club

Marcelo Brozovi

According to the reports in Italy, Italian giants Inter Milan has successfully bagged the services of Dinamo Zagreb’s Arsenal bound defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is hailed as the “Croatian Xavi” by the fans back home.

Those reports also suggested that Brozovic will be leaving to Inter Milan on an 18-month loan which costs the Italians around $3.5 million till the next summer. It was also rumoured that the loan has a compulsory buy clause costing another $5.5 million during the course of the loan time. The deal is expected to be in place as the player’s medical and signatures are pending. Brozovic’s permanent deal will see the Croat in Inter Milan colours till the summer of 2019.

The midfielder has scored three goals and accounted for six assists in 26 matches across all the competitions this season including decent time for Zagreb in the Europa League. His impressive performance has earned many interests from many top European clubs including Italian Serie A Champions Juventus and EPL biggies Arsenal. Arsenal are in a pursuit of signing a good defensive midfielder, the loophole in Arsenal’s squad this season. The likes of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini not doing any good for the team with Frenchman Abou Diaby yet to recover from his injuries. Currently Arsenal are having Francis Coquelin in that position and the Frenchman has showed some promise for the North Londoners.

Last night, according to reports in, former EPL Champions Arsenal are scouting the Croatian international in the last one year, which also made their manager Arsene Wenger impressed by the Croat’s potential. But it was added that Inter Milan have now leapfrogged Arsenal in the race for the midfielder by placing a £6m bid. Having said these, his current club Dinamo Zagreb are not willing to part ways with their talented playmaker but with interest growing they understand they cannot stand in the player’s way.

Massive Blow For Arsenal: Manchester United Set To Hijack Their Brazilian Target

Moments ago, it was reported that Arsenal manager had revealed his side’s ambitions to land Villareal’s Brazilian defender Paulista after activating his buyout clause. But in a shocking news to Wenger and Arsenal fans, the central defender might join their title rivals Manchester United. According to, Manchester United are all set to hijack Arsenal’s defensive target before the end of this transfer window.

According to TMW, fourth placed Manchester United have made themselves available in the race to sign Paulista and might have him at Old Trafford ahead of their Premier League rivals and Arsenal, with whom they are fighting for a top 4 finish (Southampton is the other team in the fray). Paulista’s impressive performances attracted a lot of offers for him but the defender is open for a move only to England. Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal, who is also impressed by his performances has used this opportunity to sign him and reinforce his defence.

Manchester United’s defence is not a strongest one and can be vulnerable as they were in the clash against Leicester City. The likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Paddy McNair, Jonny Evans and Tyler Blackett are not having a good time in the back line of Louis Van Gaal’s favourite 3-5-2 combination which has Argentine left back Marcos Rojo as its best man at the back.

The Red Devils are in need of a solid defender and there were also rumours emerging out that Manchester United might acquire the services of German International and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. This might not happen in the ongoing Winter Transfer Window but certainly might take place at the end of the season. So signing Paulista is a good move for the 20 time Premier League winners.

It was reported earlier that Paulista is reportedly wanted by Arsenal for around £10m as Wenger is working on several angles to solve his injury problems.

Wenger Confident Of The Deal As Arsenal Are In Talks To Sign Brazilian Defender

Arsene Wenger

According to, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club has started their talks with Spanish side Villareal over the transfer of Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista. Wenger is hoping to finalize the deal in the near future.

The Gunners, who are interested in activating the Brazilian central defender’s £15 million release clause as per his contract, could be dealt with a huge blow. The north London could have a tough time in securing a work permit for the 24-year-old.

Ever since the start of the 2014/15 season, Arsenal have been plagued by injury problems to their key defenders, which includes Frenchmen Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy and England’s Kieran Gibbs. Wenger stated that he wanted to sign another defender in the January transfer window after these injury concerns.

Paulista has been one of the bright stars for Villareal and is all set to make a big money move into the English Premier League as he is targeted by many clubs. Wenger said that the talks are going well. When asked about can the club find an agreement or not?, Wenger replied that he is not sure about it as his side is slowly progressing and there is a chance to pull it off.

Wenger also said that the club is ready to pay the price if they think that it is right for a good player, no matter what the price is. Paulista has yet to play a game for Brazil which could force him to have some difficulties in his attempts to secure a work permit.

Wenger also added that they respect the rules in England and when someone buys a player who does not fulfill the criteria and needs a work permit, they need to go to the commission and they tell them yes or no. Everyone has to accept that and the club has to respect the rules that are in England. Arsenal are currently fighting for a top 4 finish in the Premier League.

Brazilian Striker Dashes Arsenal And Liverpool’s Dreams Of Signing Him reports that Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano has given Arsenal and Liverpool a big jolt when he revealed his desire to stay at his current club. Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are among few top clubs who are looking to sign Adriano after his stunning show in the UEFA Champions League where he has netted 9 goals from 5 matches after the end of first round.

Since the 2012 summer, Adriano has fired in 54 goals for Shakhtar as a result of which he has received some interest from these two Premier League giants, who are struggling with their strike force. Competing with the Gunners and the Reds are AS Roma who are searching for a decent replacement for Francesco Totti.

Currently Liverpool are without their striker Daniel Sturride and their other strikers Mario Balotelli, Ricky Lambert and Fabio Borini are failing miserably in front of the goal.

But recently, the player has made it clear that he is wishing to say in Ukraine for few more months as his contract is expiring at the end of the season.  “Will I get a transfer? Nothing has arrived, apart from the interest from Roma. Shakhtar will decide what’s best, it would be nice to have a new challenge, but it would be even nicer to stay in Ukraine, at the club that I love,” told Adriano in a recent interview.

There were also some rumours that Italian Serie A defending Champions and table toppers Juventus are also in the race to sign the striker if they fail to land Montenegro striker Steven Jovetic from Manchester City. Juventus offered a €2 million for a six month loan deal followed by a forced redemption clause of €15 million when the summer transfer window opens for which the English Champions refused to agree terms.

Chelsea Looking To Loan Out Midfielder And Set To Land Colombian Star Soon

Chelsea’s first ever Mexican signing Ulises Davila is all set to move to Portugal on loan for the rest of the season, reports

The attacking midfielder will be playing for Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal. The Club is expected to announce the transfer in the next few days. Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, he has been on loan to Tenerife in Spain having previously had spells with Vitesse, Sabadell and Cordoba.

In 2011, Davila became the first Mexican to sign for Chelsea when he moved from Guadalajara on a five year contract. But the 23-year-old is yet to make an appearance for The Blues in top flight football.

Chelsea already have a strong midfield force and they are looking to make it stronger by adding Colombian playmaker Juan Cuadrado from Floirentina. According to sources in the club, the club will be signing him in the ongoing transfer window. The 26-year-old midfielder Cuadrado is highly rated among the big hosts of the club. They are also planning to offload Germany’s Andre Schurrle and Egypt’s Mohammad Salah before landing the Colombian International. Cuadrado has been a star of the World Cup for his team along with James Rodriguez as he attracted many good offers from top clubs before rejecting them.

Cuadrado, who recently signed a contract till 2019 with the Italian club has been rated £26.8m for which The Blues are willing to spend. He fits in Chelsea’s system as he is a hard-working and pacey wide player. His presence will reduce the workload off the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard as the games come thick and fast in the latter stages of the Premier League season. One more reason why Chelsea might want him is that Fiorentina did not play Champions League and so Cuadrado won’t be cup tied and will be available for them to play in the tournament.

January Transfers: Manchester United Submit Initial Bid To Bring Back Former Superstar

Top 4 contenders Manchester United have taken their first step in bringing back Italian midfielder Paul Pogba, reported. According to the reports in Italian Media (La Stampa), Manchester United have made the first official offer to the midfielder’s current club Juventus. It has been rumoured that the Red Devils have submitted a whopping £61.25 million bid to bring Pogba back to his former club.

Pogba left Manchester United 3 years back when former boss Sir Alex Ferguson refused to give him enough playing time. Since his arrival to Manchester from Le Havre in 2009, Pogba has made only seven appearances for the senior team. But the current manager Louis Van Gaal is confident that the proposed deal goes through. In a recent interview, Pogba has admitted that he still loves his former club and his manager added that Pogba won’t stay in Italy for a much longer time. Already Pogba is sought after by Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Before Pogba left Manchester United, he was hailed as the next big thing at Old Trafford and touted as the likely candidate to boss the midfield in the future. Ever since he left to Turin, he was transformed into a world class midfielder under the guidance of Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo. The 21-year-old’s performances for Juventus earned him the Golden Boy award in Europe for the best under-21 player and in 2014 he was awarded the Bravo Award for the best under-23 player in European competitions. Pogba was also awarded as the best young player of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In all cases, Italian defending Champions and table toppers Juventus won’t be leaving Pogba this month. But in the summer window, things could be changing as any permanent deal is unlikely to go through until the window officially begins.

Revealed: Manchester United Looking To Sign Former Chelsea Reject

Daily Star reports that there are some rumors in Germany according to which Vfs Wolfsburg’s Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been targeted by EPL giants Manchester United. De Bruyne, who is having a fantastic season with Wolfsburg has attracted many top clubs and Louis Van Gaal’s men are very keen on signing the former Chelsea man.

Since the start of this season, De Bruyne has assisted for 10 goals and is one of the reason why Wolfsburg are in the second position of the Bundesliga table. There are some chances that Manchester United’s rivals Manchester City are also interested in him.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is taking these speculations as a result of the club’s overall performance and De Bruyne’s individual performance this season. He said that some top clubs like Manchester United are always interested in some top players. Those are nothing other than an acknowledgement for the good work done by us as a team and De Bruyne as a player. Hecking said: “It’s normal that clubs like Manchester United are interested in top players. That’s an acknowledgement for his and our work.”

Kevin De Bruyne’s manager Patrick De Koster too added spice to this when he revealed that at least three clubs are behind his client during an interview with German media house Sports Bild. “I know that a few clubs are interested in him,” De Koster revealed.

De Bruyne left Belgian side Genk to join Chelsea in 2012 and was immediately loaned back to his old club before undergoing another loan spell with Werder Breman. The Blues paid Genk £7 million for De Bruyne and sold him for £18 million to Wolfsburg last summer after the midfielder found it very difficult to get a place in the XI that has the likes of Oscar, Willian, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas etc. De Bruyne also performed well for his country in the 2014 World Cup.
