Once every so often you get a talent that comes a long and everyone is very excited, especially after that first performance. It all starts when positive vibes are felt by coaches at the club, then by the manager and then the players begin to comment on the player. Former legends also begin to have their say and suddenly you have national newspapers claiming he’s the next Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Arsenal have already announced the signing of Alexis Sanchez, making it the one of the best ever starts to a summer for the Gunners in my opinion. It must be nice for fans of the North London club to see them competing with big teams and making a mega-money move for someone who starred at the World Cup and for Barcelona last season. It is very unusual for the Gunners to make a signing like this. However, it could be argued that Sanchez isn’t a player that Arsenal particularly need.

The World Cup has given us plenty of sights to behold. There have been amazing locations, great stadiums and entertaining fans, but the action that we have witnessed has been far better. This has included team performances that define comradery, with Costa Rica a perfect example of that. There have been wonderful goals of all shapes and sizes, whether it was James Rodriguez with his brilliant volley or Mario Gotze winning the World Cup with such a decisive finish. There have been upsets, surprises, enthralling encounters and the odd demolition job.
