Kenny Dalglish and Sir Alex Ferguson are set to renew their rivalry this Saturday when Liverpool welcome old foes Manchester United to Anfield in what is expected to be Reds captain Steven Gerrard’s first start of the season after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a groin injury.

So Wayne Rooney is set to miss out on another European Championships after his foolish kick in the trip to Macedonia earned him a straight red card on the night, and more importantly a three-match ban for next summer.

Blue half of Manchester cheering for Dalglish’s men

For the club and its fans the biggest fixture to be played this weekend doesn’t involve Mancini’s men. On Saturday at 12:45pm Roberto Mancini along with many of  City’s faithful will take a keen interest on proceedings at Anfield and for a brief spell on Saturday the blue half of Manchester will be supporting Dalglish’s men.

Should Mello Capello Leave Out Looney Rooney?

So a slight detour from everything Manchester City but I am amazed by the news coming out of the media regarding Wayne Rooneys ban. After what was a stupid lash out in Englands last qualifying game Mr Rooney has been handed a three match ban, which will see him out of the Euro group stage. That is if Mr Capello takes him, which I have no doubt he will.
