Blue Square Bet Premier Betting Preview

Odds are from BlueSquare Bet.

Mansfield Town vs. Kidderminster Harriers – Sat 26th, 12pm.

A very tough game to call, Mansfield will be buoyed by the approaching FA Trophy Final and also the midweek comeback at Histon, however they come up against a side that are currently holding onto the last play-off spot. Harriers know that every point counts, especially with Fleetwood and York chasing but with odds of 3.30 (23/10) for a draw and with a very strong chance of both teams cancelling each other out this seems the best option.  Mid-Week hat-trick hero Louis Briscoe is a remarkable 14/1 to open the scoring, a real diamond.

Grimsby Town vs. Tamworth – Sat 26th, 1pm.

Grimsby Town have had a very inconsistent season, but a late play-off push could be on the cards, however the Mariners would need to win pretty much all their remaining games. Tamworth are slipping towards relegation and are very poor on their travels. Looking past a home victory is tough so odds of 1.61 (8/13) certainly seems a safe bet. Michael Coulson is a tasty 6.50 to open the scoring.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Rushden & Diamonds – Sat 26th, 3pm.

AFC have lost their last three, including a promotion six-pointer to Crawley. Rushden have also failed to win in their last 5 but have one of the best away records in the division. The run for one of the teams will come to an end but with the tempting odds of 3.30 for a draw, it’s possible that both teams could cancel each other out. A 0-0 draw is 9/1.

Barrow vs. Bath City – Sat 26th, 3pm.

Barrow have seemingly jumped clear of the relegation zone and with two games in hand over relegation rivals they seem well-placed to remain in the division. Bath are comfortably sitting in mid-table after a fine season since promotion from the BlueSquare South. Barrow need the points more than Bath, so a home win at 2.20 seems the best bet. Midfield man Paul Rutherford is 14/1 to open the scoring.

Cambridge United vs. Forest Green – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Cambridge who have been this years ‘underachievers’ could be forced into a relegation scrap if teams below them win their games in hand, however defeat against 21st Forest Green could mean a nervy run-in for United. Forest Green are the second worst form side in the division, picking up 2 points from their last 6. A home win at 1.91 seems the most likely result. Dan Walker is 6.50 to open the scoring.

Darlington vs. Altrincham – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Darlington are one of the form sides in the division and with FA Trophy progression to the final, the former football league team have games in hand on teams above them. Altrincham however face a very tough battle to stay up, currently finding themselves in 22nd position. A home win at 1.51 is a fair reflection on what seems a routine victory for the hosts. Liam Hatch is 5.50 to open the scoring.

Eastbourne Borough vs. Kettering Town – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Eastbourne will almost certainly need to pick up a result here to stand any chance of staying in the division. Kettering have had an up and down season but seem certain to stay in the division for another season, despite Eastbourne needing the points more than Kettering the away side are much fancied for this game and with odds of 2.37 to do so, it seems a good punt. Danny Mills is 7/1 to open the scoring.

Gateshead vs. Crawley Town – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Gateshead narrowly missed out on an FA Trophy final last weekend, but recovered well to pick up a point at Grimsby during the week. The hosts face a difficult challenge in already payed-out champions Crawley Town, who not only top the league table but also the form league table. 1.57 seems quite low odds for an away side however Crawley are strolling the league and seem a safe bet. Sergio Torres scored midweek and is 10/1 to open the scoring on match day.

Hayes & Yeading vs. Fleetwood Town – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Hayes have secured a double loan signing from Crawley which had an effect as they climbed out of the relegation zone last weekend. Fleetwood however are currently 6th, only 2 points off a play-off spot so they know as well that all points are crucial at this time of the season. A draw at 3.40 seems the most sensible option however both sides could easily snatch it. Magno Vieira is 5.50 to score first.

Southport vs. Luton Town – Sat 16th, 3pm.

Southport have really struggled recently and only find themselves out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Luton however are third and seem destine for a play-off spot, they are a tough side to beat and even though Southport will put up a brave battle, Luton look good at 1.91 to take all three points. Lloyd Owusu is a good 6.50 to score first.

York City vs. Histon – Sat 16th, 3pm.

York are breathing down Kidderminster’s neck and with games in hand they once again could reach the play-offs. Histon however find themselves 10 points from safety and bottom of the league. York should wrap up the victory at 1.33. Michael Rankine is 6/1 to score first.

Wrexham vs. Newport County – Sun 17th, 2pm.

Wrexham are in good form and look likely to finish in the top 5, Newport however have fallen off the play-off spot after inconsistent form since the departure of manager Dean Holdsworth. Wrexham are 1.73 to win the welsh derby and Andy Mangan is 5/1 to score first.

DIAMOND OF THE DAY: Louis Briscoe to score first for Mansfield at 14/1

LONGSHOT OF THE DAY: Gateshead to beat Crawley at 5.50
