“Derby della Madonnina”

Well it’s been and gone, I’m certain that nobody foresaw a 3-nil drubbing of Inter in the “Derby della Madonnina” in a game that had everything you could ask for especially for.

The game got off to a flier with Pato scoring, he finished off a rebound after a Robinho shot. It got worse for Inter early in the second half when the Brazilian was brought down by Chivu, which led to the Inter player getting a red card.

With about 30 minutes to go Pato got his brace with a header that killed off any hopes of an Inter come back.

Clarence Seedorf was magnificent on the day – justifying his presence in the team. It was a pass from the Dutchman that led to Cassano being brought down after controlling the ball with his chest in the Inter penalty area which earned his team a penalty. The lively Italian got up and drove it down the middle to seal the game with a third nail in the Inter coffin.

It is starting to look more like a Milan vs Napoli race with just three points between the two sides. Next up for Milan is Fiorentina, who are undefeated in their last five matches whilst Napoli are off to Bologna who will be looking for redemption after their 3-1 loss to Brescia. Napoli’s last defeat was at the San siro against their title rivals Milan back in February.

A slip up from Milan could see Napoli claim their first Serie A title since the 1989-1990 season.
