Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester City

Pre match Preview

Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester City Monday 25th April 2011 ko 8pm

Blackburn Rovers go into the game having not won in 9 but will welcome the return of Junior Hoilett as he returns from a hamstring injury, Keith Andrews returns whilst Ryan Nelsen remains out for the rest of the season, Steven Nzonzi is suspended for his final game whilst Roque Santa Cruz is ineligible to play against his parent club subject to loan terms.

Manchester City will be ecstatic after reaching the FA Cup final with a 1-0 win against rivals United last week but Roberto Mancini is hoping that the players forget about the final for now and concentrate on trying to secure 4th place especially as City have not won an away game in 2011. There are no fresh injury concerns for City as captain Carlos Tevez and Micah Richards remain out with hamstring injuries.

Blackburn managed to secure a 1-1 draw at Eastlands this season and will be hoping they can at least repeat that result, if not better it. A win against City and then Bolton in back to back home games could see Blackburn safe.

The referee for this game is Andre Marriner.

Prediction: Blackburn will know how important 3 points are in this vital game whilst City’s cup final may be a distraction. 2-1 Blackburn.
