Milan have the plan to invade Chelsea

First it was Didier Drogba.

Now it’s Nicolas Anelka.

If AC Milan have their way, Chelsea won’t have barely any strikers left come February.

The Italian giants have again been linked with a Blues front-man today, after last month there were strong rumours saying they would be keen on signing Drogba when the transfer window re-opens in January.

But after denying their interest in the Ivorian, it appears their attention has turned to Anelka, although some believe there is a genuine desire for them to have both front-men plying their trade at the San Siro in the near future.

Perhaps it wouldn’t be the biggest loss for the Londoners though, with neither firing on all cylinders this season.

They have just two goals between them this campaign, and with both of them the wrong side of 30, it could now be a good time to bring fresher legs to Stamford Bridge.

After all, there are high hopes for teenage striker Romelu Lukaku, whilst Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata have impressed this term in the final third.

Although if both experienced hit-men did depart, it would leave Fernando Torres as their only real senior striker.

And it’s safe to say he hasn’t exactly been himself since swapping Liverpool for the Bridge.

But if the moves allowed Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas to bring in new blood up-front, then perhaps Milan’s pursuit of the duo would prove a good move for both parties.

You never know, they may even make a bid for Torres.
