Five winger Chelsea should go for

It is clear that Chelsea need a natural right-winger, Juan Mata is doing an excellent job, but it would be better to see him on the left or being able to swap with another top class winger throughout the match.

Salomon Kalou is a decent player but not one with a long-term future at the Bridge, he has once again struggled to impress this season. There is Nicolas Anelka, he has been an excellent servant to the club but his best days are past him, plus he will be leaving the club in January or in the summer.

So who should the Blues sign?

Miloš Krasić

The Serbian has impressed since his move to Juventus from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2010 for a fee of about €15m. Since moving to Serie A, he has scored eight goals in 39 games.

Krasić is a right-sided midfielder/winger who has excellent dribbling skills, a lot of pace and knows where the goal is. Whilst Juventus will want top price for the Serbian star they could be open to selling.

Wesley Sneijder

The little Dutchman is pure quality and was a key part of Inter’s treble winning squad under Jose. The 27-year-old has struggled with injury over the last 12 months but is fit again and thought to be open to a move.

He is a dead-ball specialist as well as being very quick and skilful, he came through the Ajax youth system. After breaking into the first-team he scored 48 goals in 127 league games before moving to Real Madrid and then Inter.

If Inter were to sell, then they would want in excess of €30m so that they can fund a move for Carlos Tevez.

Alexis Sánchez

The Chilean winger should have been bought in the summer, but he opted for a move to Barcelona.

Since joining the Catalan side he has been restricted to just three starts due to injury – if he struggles to get back in the team then it could be worth making a cheeky move in January.

He caught the headlines over the last two seasons in Udinese where he led the team to a Champions League place last season. He even scored four times in one game, when his team beat Palermo 7-0.

Sanchez has scored 14 times in 44 starts for the national team and would be an asset to the Chelsea squad.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

The German can play either in the middle or on the right, he has spent his entire career with Bayern Munich but could be ready for a move.

Schweinsteiger has scored 28 goals in 260 games for his club and has an excellent goals per games ratio with the German national side where he has managed to find the back of the net 23 times in 90 games.

So far he has won five Bundesliga titles plus five German cups and is now vice-captain.

Arjen Robben

The Dutchman should never have been sold, whilst temperamental and struggled with injury on occasions it was always clear how good he was and still is.

Robben has done well wherever he has gone, even at Real Madrid he managed to score 11 times in 50 games. His record is brilliant, he has scored 30 goals in 42 games – he has paid back the €25m that they paid the Spaniards for his services.

He seems happy in Germany, especially with the team looking very strong but he may feel he has unfinished business at the Bridge.

=================

It is there for all to see that this is a position that needs to be filled, but we will have to wait until january to see if Andre Villas-Boas makes a move for any of the above.
