As far as seasons go Robin Van Persie has had one of the best in Premier League history.
This has predictably lead to the generic transfer link with Manchester City, which has no doubt sent a horrible shiver down every non-City fan’s spine.
I mean, as much as everyone would hope the goal machine will stay at The Emirates, there’s a disturbing inevitably that he’ll make the trip up North to join ex-comrades Nasri, Clichy and Mr.Skinny himself Kolo Toure.
God help us all if he does…
That team would just be utterly ridiculous.
Close your eyes for a second and imagine a forward line of Silva, Aguero, Nasri, Balotelli and RVP.
Not only would that team dominate the league, it would also ruin it, in the sense that it would reduce each opposition manager to a nervous wreck every Saturday at 2pm after reading the City team sheet.
The chances are The Citizens would essentially be in a league of their own.
Not only that, they would also turn Arsenal into a mid-table side with Wenger continuing to fly the flag for distinctly average youth stars to replace established first-teamers. (Frimpong really is not that good).
To summarise…RVP to City=Bad for football!
