When I first started thinking about this piece, I had many thoughts on what I could write about – Roman Abramovich’s off field issues, André Villas-Boas’ questionable tactics, the ‘old guard’ slowly fading away, or the fact that Chelsea would be fronted by Colin Murray and Stan Collymore on a miserable Thursday night on Channel Five (just for the record, I was prepared for it).

Jol to use Arsenal victory as a launch-pad for his attractive Fulham

Martin Jol’s return to the Premier League as manager of Fulham hasn’t been the easiest of rides, knocked out of the Europa League in the first round after a dramatic late capitulation to Odense, they have suffered domestically too, 3-1 home defeats to Everton and Tottenham, comfortable 2-0 defeats to Swansea and Wolves threatened a season that may have been metaphorically as long for Jol as it actually had been, with the campaign beginning as far back as June 30th.

Being a Bristol City fan has always had its highs and lows through out my 19 year life span, but in the past few years the club seems to have lost its passion, fight and most of all stature. We used to be a club that teams feared playing against, especially at Ashton Gate.

The Ghost Of 3rd Rounds Past

The start of January is supposed to be a time for looking forward and making changes in your life. In reality, most people’s resolutions fade away by January 7th, so it seems right to me that this year 7th January is FA Cup 3rd round day, because now all it reminds me is of a New Years resolution gone wrong.
