Spurs falling apart

I’m sure many Tottenham Hotspur fans have seen the rumours of an alleged training ground bust-up over the past week involving manager Harry Redknapp and Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul, Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker, with the former two reportedly told they won’t play for the club again with Redknapp in charge. The Twitterverse lit up around an hour ago suggesting the aforementioned quarter had fallen out with the Spurs boss.

Now, I don’t know whether these reports are indeed true or not, but for the sake of the rest of the season, I hope they aren’t. Yes, all hope of finishing in the top four is diminishing quickly following a real downturn in form, but for these to arise so abruptly following what has been labelled one of Spurs’ worst performances of the season isn’t what is needed right now.

I feel as though the Kaboul rumours have been misinterpreted. Before Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to QPR, he said on his own Twitter account that he was set to partake in full training again next week. However, between the other three, there is history regarding possible falling outs with management staff.

There have been times in the past when Adebayor has become embroiled in spats with team-mates or the management, whilst many know of the Lennon situation against Real Madrid last season. As for Walker, who knows whether there is anything in the mentioned reports.

It is pure speculation at the moment, and I am only passing on what I have heard, so if they are true is anyone’s guess. Best to hold on and see what happens over the course of the week, but if something has indeed happened, it needs to be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later. It is nothing more than Chinese whispers at the moment and if some high ranking journalists are to believed, there is nothing in it at all.
