France v Ukraine
Paul Hill- France 3-2 Ukraine. I expect a high scoring contest here due to both sides possessing in-form attackers, coupled with two shakey defences that are always likely to concede. Public enemy number one Frank Ribery will be hoping to finally make amends for the debacle at South Africa, a saga the French people still blame him for. He was non-existent against the English, but has been in great form in the Bundesliga the past few months.
Ben McAleer- Ukraine 1-2 France Despite the backing of their home nation behind them, I can see Ukraine slipping up against France in the second set of Group D encounters. The French showed enough against England to convince they are able to qualify to the next stage and should be able to overcome to co-hosts. Franck Ribery to net the opener with Andrey Shecvhenko to add his third goal of the tournament.
Dan Whiteway- Ukraine 1-1 France Ukraine are riding the crest of an Andriy Shevchenko-inspired wave right now after coming from behind to beat the Swedes in their opening games and I’ve got a sneaking feeling they will get something out of this game too. France dominated in their game against England but they’re defence remains suspect; the French will score but just as equally likely is Ukraine doing likewise.
George Powell- Ukraine 0-2 France: Although Ukraine were impressive in their opening day win against Sweden, I can’t see them having too much joy against the French. Benzema to be on target in a routine 3 points for Les Bleus.
Scott Balaam- Ukraine 0-2 France – The co-hosts got off to a great start beating Sweden, Sheva rolled back the years to score twice. Sadly, today will be different – I expect to see an attacking France, Benzema to show his class and get on the scoresheet.
Oliver Wilson-
Brad Smith – Ukraine 1-2 France – France should be able to capitalise on a poor Ukrainian defence enough to nick this game by the odd goal. Expect Benzema to get off the mark in this game, but they won’t have it all their own way, and I think the national hero Shevchenko will get another here too. Both teams to score is almost a cert for me….

England v Sweden
Paul Hill- England 1-0 Swden. This seems like a bit of an obvious scoreline, but judging by how Hodgson’s tenure has gone so far, a close win for England seems likely. Zlatan has a bit of a vendetta against the English media, who he feels victimise him. So as long as we keep him quiet then we should be ok. Just about.
Ben McAleer- Sweden 1-2 England Like France, England showed enough in their 1-1 draw with Les Bleus to convince they are capable of qualifying for the next round. Sweden will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to the co-hosts, but a loss will guarantee an early flight home. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will open the scoring before a Steven Gerrard led fight-back will be enough to see England over the finish-line.
Dan Whiteway- Sweden 1-1 England England’s rather dismal record in competitive football against Sweden is well documented and despite the win against them in a friendly last year proving they aren’t a team of unbeatable Norse Gods, I fear this record may continue. Sweden did not impress in their opening game but no matter how much they say Andy Carroll will trouble their defence, another draw beckons here as two fairly evenly matched sides cancel each other out.
George Powell- Sweden 1-2 England A good start for the 3 Lions on Monday with a point against France, I can see us edging a tight game with our defensive organisation, the pace of Young and Welbeck could be key as well.
Scott Balaam- Sweden 1-1 England – Another tricky tie for Roy’s boys, England’s competitive history against Sweden isn’t pretty reading and EVEN though the Swedes are not in great shape I can’t see England winning. I fancy Ashley Young to open the scoring and Ibrahimovic to equalise in the second half.
Oliver Wilson-
Brad Smith- Sweden 0-2 England – They were lambasted for their performance against Ukraine, and it won’t get much better here, Carroll will start and capitalise on a poor Swede defence, while Parker and Gerrard will have their work cut out, but should deal with Elm and Kallstrom, although I expect England to have to soak up a good deal of pressure at some stage in the match.
