A new meaning to ‘bomb it down the wing’ (Video)

Football needs a good kick up the backside.

We’ve heard the disturbing reports of Tottenham players Defoe, Townsend and Lennon being racially abused last night in Lazio, which we hope UEFA will act upon swiftly. This is terrible, despicable and it should be stamped out of the game quickly, however the attack on this player takes things to a whole new level!

27-year-old Iranian footballer Adel Kolahkaj could have had his arm blown off after he removed some debris from the field of play. What was it?

Well, it’s been reported as a ‘firecracker, small grenade or even a bomb’ – umm, excuse me, a bomb? Yes, a bomb.

Watch the video here to see that this player is a very very lucky man. Even Chris Kamara would be lost for words with this one.

Amazingly, the game between Sepahan and UAE side Al-Ahli in the Asian Champions League was allowed to continue after a 10 minute delay and petered out to a 0-0 draw.

Lets hope this is the last we ever see of this – the players might not be so lucky next time.
