We all love the thrill of a penalty shootout, except for when it’s our team.
As a player who takes the occassional pen, I get in the zone, think about where I’m going to play it and then use all my strength to hide the ‘tells’ that a goal keeper looks for.
I like to think I’ve had a good success rate over the years, but even so – I don’t think I’d ever have the cojones to try any of these!
Here is the cheeky pen that sparked this train of mad penalty thought – If only the keeper hadn’t have saved it, it would have been genius!
Deception at its best:
This one gets a large tip of the cap as he’s managed to take the kick with his standing leg – we’ve all tried it since, we’ve all managed to hurt ourselves…

This guy definitely wasn’t concentrating on the where he’d put it and how he’d stop the goalie finding out! Clearly got his mind on other matters!
