More often than not, there are players that slip under the radar as a result of the dominant teams within each nation’s respective league. Performers that will regularly perform admirably, but see their exploits fall overshadowed by the superstars in the country.
One of those is Celta Vigo front-man Iago Aspas. The 25-year-old was in scintillating form for the La Liga outfit during their 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night, giving opposite number Alvaro Arbeloa the run around during the Copa Del Rey first leg encounter between the two sides.
Understandably, the Spaniard has been courted by a number of Primera Division outfits ahead of the opening of the January transfer window, with Atletico Madrid credited with an interest in Aspas. However, there are those in England that should be sending flirtatious looks across the continent.
The striker’s input has frequently seen him compared to that of Swansea City star man Michu. The former Rayo Vallecano ace secured a move to the Liberty Stadium over the summer and has proven to be an instant hit with the fans and fantasy football purists, netting 12 goals in 16 games.
There are those that believe Aspas would make a similar impact on the Premier League as his compatriot, should any team show an interest in the Celta ace. They would undoubtedly be blessed with a player who is comfortable on the ball, possessing the ability to run at players with confidence – a winger that would bring fans to their feet whenever he strides forward.
