Arsenal closing in on capture of ‘next Jack Wilshere’

Whenver a player is dubbed ‘the new so-and-so’ it is more often than not that he is a complete flop. Why add to the pressure of proffessional footall by labelling a youngster before he has been given the chance to show what he is actually capable of?

Well, Aston Villa’s Danny Crowley is being compared to Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere at the age of just 16. I say just 16, but the player of first team players are getting younger all the time. His composure on the ball and willingness to drive forward from the central positions is what has seen him likened to the 22-year-old England star, and after months of scouting the teen it is believed that Arsene Wenger will make a move soon.

The French coach living up to his reputation of cradle snatching by stealing him from under Villa’s noses.

Crowley is an England youth international and has shown what sort of talent he is in the Victory Shield recently, pulling the strings in the middle of the field.

Villa’s youth set up has been well established as one of the best in the country and their youngsters recently won the NextGen Series after beating Chelsea 2-0 last month.

Will this be another case of Wenger blooding a future international star?
