Tottenham and Everton go to battle over 21-year-old winger (video)
One for you Scooby Doo mystery fans now. Porto star Christian Atsu is the target for an unnamed Premier League club and it is said to be the chosen destination of the 21-year-old as he looks to strut his stuff on a bigger stage. Exciting, eh? Sky Sports are reporting that the club offering for his services are thought to be either Tottenham or Everton, so if you were the Ghanian where would you rather go?
Tottenham are going into the final league game with a chance of overtaking rivals Arsenal for that elusive Champions League spot, albeit only a slight chance, and look to crown what has been a strong season for Andres Villas-Boas and company.
However, with the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon, Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker all being linked with moves away the club could lose any sort of momentum for next year. Although the departure of the former two would probably encourage Atsu’s move to north London.
So what about Everton? Well, the Toffees have also had a solid season, finishing sixth going into their last game of the campaign, and also David Moyes’ final appearance as manager. It is unknown who the Everton board are lining up as boss for next season so a move may not be on the cards for Atsu just yet.
