Maybe they ran out of guests? No, surely not, there would always be celebrities they could sneak up on with that famous red book. Perhaps the BBC are preparing for a brand new series due to be released next year, just after they have axed A Question of Sport for being such an embarrassment.
I used to love A Question of Sport but I now can’t even stand to watch a minute of it. Two big reasons for this are Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell who are such cringeworthy idiots that it makes me sad that the BBC pay them to have such crass banter which only they find funny. I wonder what poor ol’ Sue Barker makes of it all.
Anyway, here is a classic from the archive featuring the legendary George Best getting the red book treatment.
Although Best was before my time his achievements are remarkable and, thanks to YouTube, I am able to see for myself what a gifted footballer he was.
The tragic end to Best’s life adds a certain poignancy to this particular clip as he recounts not only a brilliant career as a footballer but a lifestyle that is stuff of legend.
