A spanner in the works for Manchester United, as the news Thiago Alcantara may snub the Red Devils in favour of a move to Germany with Bayern Munich. The Spaniard is said to be keen on reuniting with former boss Pep Guardiola who is now at the helm of the European champions. While David Moyes pulls his *ahem* strawberry blond hair out, we ask whether he should make the move to Old Trafford or travel to the Bundesliga.
Well, looking at the midfields and the role in which Thiago plays, United are screaming out for a player of his calibre. With Michael Carrick the only player who is assured of a place in the United midriff, David Moyes will be desperately hoping that Tom Cleverley can step up next season. With the wealth of quality in the United defence and even more so in the attack, A big name player or two in the middle and the Premier League title could well be staying in the Theatre of Dreams.
First team football is in Manchester, Thiago.
Now let’s put our lederhosen on and take a look at our Barvarian friends. The midfield of Bayern is staggering. With Bastien Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze, Javi Martinez, Xhedran Shaqiri and Toni Kroos all competing for a slot, Thiago would be mad to choose last season’s treble winners.
Unless of course the wages they are offering are un-rejectable.
Do the right thing, Mr Alcantara.
